Travis & Jesse: The Road So Far
Fri January 24 @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art presents a new exhibition by Houston artist Jesse Lott and Louisiana artist Travis Whitfield. The exhibition, “The Road So Far,” is really two shows with discreet points of connection. Each artist provides his own body of work – and can stand alone – but when seen together relate to universal aspects of nature and human experience.
The exhibition features a full-size “Shotgun House” by Whitfield as well as artifacts, photographs and multi-media recordings from Northern Louisiana, where Whitfield lives and has a studio. The exhibition also features a new series of drawings by Lott, in addition to several works of his sculpture in wood, metal and paper that reference his urban working environment in Houston’s Fifth Ward.
This exhibit is curated by Ann Harithas, the museum’s founder and executive director.
Five Points Museum of Contemporary Art is located at 1201 North Moody in Victoria, TX and is open to the public 12-5pm Wednesday through Sunday. Admission at the museum is always free.
