The Center for Peace Victoria is hosting their second table-led series of dialogues geared toward finding resolutions for community issues Friday. Danna Cole, the founder and executive director of the charity organization, said she is interested in the response to the first event.
The meetings are led by individuals trained to create “meaningful dialogue” at individual tables, so that everyone has an opportunity to voice their ideas and concerns. Center for Peace Victoria holds these events to facilitate conversations that open the door to united resolutions.
The series, Conversations Over Coffee, are held monthly, and attendees will engage in different topics at each event that will address issues we face both locally and in the larger scope of American culture.
Cole explained that anyone is welcome to come even if they haven’t registered previously. She said that the event starts at 5:30 p.m. but those who would like to eat before are welcome to come earlier. Mumphord’s will remain open for those eating afterward as well.
Partisan politics and divisive opinions often foster resentment or create negative situations. These events offer community members an environment where ideas are heard, and progress is the goal, Cole said.
