
The Pig was the last guest to arrive to the Jade Emperor’s party, which made the Pig the 12th and last member of the Chinese Zodiac. One version of this Chinese myth is that the pig overslept, another is that a wolf destroyed his house.
“Pigs have a beautiful personality and are blessed with good fortune in life,” according to chinesenewyear.net. In Chinese culture, Pigs are a symbol of wealth.
2018 was the Year of the Dog.
Years associated with the Year of the Pig include 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, 2031. People born in these years are energetic and enthusiastic about their jobs, even if they are boring ones. Pigs are also not wasteful with money but they do like to enjoy themselves.
Lucky numbers for Pigs include 2, 5, 8,; mineral is agate and colors include yellow, gray, brown. Unlucky numbers are 1, 7, 9 and colors are blue, green.
Speaking of colors, it’s not surprise that the color of the year looks a bit pink like a pig – Living Coral.
Living Coral, was named the Color of the Year by the Pantone Color Institute. 2018’s color of the year was Ultra Violet.
