1. Hometown Heroes at Children’s Discovery Museum Saturday, September 1
It’s been one year since Hurricane Harvey rocked our community, and when disasters like this strike, it is important for children of all ages to be able to find the silver lining.
Our new exhibit is a chance for children to learn to take an active role in their community & gain a new understanding of the people who make big differences in tough times.
From newscasters to lineman, to the neighbor next door, there are so many HOMETOWN HEROES to be thankful for.
Children of all ages will enjoy learning what it takes to be part of a great community like this through imaginative play in our new exhibit. They will learn essential skills that will teach them that they too can step up as a hero when their time comes!

2. DC vs Marvel Live Trivia at Aero Crafters Wednesday, August 29
Dust off those comic books and start reading! Two rounds dedicated to one of the largest cinematic inspirations of the ’00’s! Dark Horse comics will also be making an appearance so be sure to study those indy genres!

8. Walk With a Doc: Dr. Daniel Cano Saturday, September 1
Kick off your weekend with Citizens Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Daniel Cano! Victoria residents of all ages are invited to lace up their walking shoes and join a local physician the first Saturday of each month from 9-10 am for this FREE event. No HealthPlex membership is required.

9. International Vulture Awareness Day at the Texas Zoo Saturday, September 1
The first Saturday in September each year is International Vulture Awareness Day. We will be celebrating at the Texas Zoo this year with all kinds of vulture related activities and games to help spread awareness of these successful scavengers. A portion of all proceeds from the day will go directly to saving vultures in the wild!
This event will be like none the Victoria area has seen before and we hope to see you all there. Together we can save these incredible animals!

10. Flip Flop Festival Friday, August 31 – Sunday, September 2
